Sunday Morning

After spending all day outside doing yardwork yesterday I am really enjoying my Sunday Morning cup of coffee while the family sleeps in. I am a bit sore today to say the least, but the yard is ready for what summer will bring us this year. Our farmer friends delivered a heap of fresh from the farm fertilizer so all that is left is to til the garden. Of course, planting won't be done till the end of May because we still have the chance of more snow up here!

It's been a long winter and and I feel like a bear coming out of hibernation! The birds are singing and the daffidols are blooming.

Voting for the EFC APRIL CHALLENGE ends on the 28th, so if you haven't voted and would like to, please stop by and cast your vote. And don't forget to stop by the EFC Store as there are several items suitable for Mother's Day.

I have been busy creating Felted Wool Bowls this week and have played with some new techniques that have proved successful!

I have found a way to make them bigger without loosing stability. This method takes much longer to make, but well worth the effort. I will be sure to make more!

This bowl measures 8 inches wide and can be used as a fruit basket or perhaps for your rolls at dinner time. It is double knit on the sides for extra stability and will look lovely in any room.

Also new this week is this lovely pot with a 3D daisy on the front... what a lovely unique item for Mother's Day!

And here is one to help you celebrate Memorial Day and the 4th of July!

Hope you all have a great week ahead and that you will stop by my etsy and artfire shops.

I am having a ball making these felted coffee cup cozies. My newest is in a beautiful lavender:

I added a new pair of children's felted slippers in a sweet pink for your little princess:

This cable knit can be used as a choker or headband. I think it is really sweet, but would love to hear what you think:

Two new wine bottle cozies are added to the shop - one in classic cables and one in a rib pattern

And this felted bowl is sure to be my personal favorite. It really makes me think of summer time!

New This Week ~~

For those of you who celebrate Christmas, you know what a busy time of year this can be. This past week I have finished my holiday shopping, wrapped all the gifts, cleaned the house in preparation for overnight visitors and finished up some projects at my day job.

In addition to that, I have been working getting organized for 2009 with brand new banners, labels and inventory. I am so excited to have matching sew-in labels to my new banner and avatar. Look for a contest coming up in January to name my cute little sheep. I think we will have fun with that one! My new banner and avatar was made by hbcorner:

Here are my sew-in labels made by greenbeansnstrings:

I have spent 3 weeks getting my new Artfire studio organized and I am just loving it over there. I still love my etsy shop and will have some great surprises for everyone in 2009 both at ArtFire and etsy!

I was still able to add new items to my shop this past week. Including:

This gorgeous felted bowl ~ Scalloped Blue Bell $25

This lovely knit necklace ~ Lovely Lavender $8

This sweet crocheted pin ~ Winter White with Vintage Button $5

And this chunky, very, very red knit scarfette with wood buttons $25

I will be closing my shop early Monday morning and have a reopening on Saturday December 27 so I can enjoy time with my family.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and more importantly, enjoys their friends and families during this coming week! Merry Christmas everyone ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ ♫

New This Week ~~

With the Holidays creeping up quickly and so many, many things to do I've still managed to sneak a few new items in my shop.

I have most of my holiday shopping done. Uh huh... I said most. Nothing like waiting till the last minute. But like most people this year, we have made a commitment not to charge any gift / holiday costs. So, the shopping trickles with each payday. With 10 days left till Christmas, that is only one payday left. Ready or not, Christmas will come.

Valerie's Gallery offers affordable unique gifts, with many items still on clearance (50 - 70% off) that will still be shipped in time for the holidays (I would say continental US would make it in time, maybe not for International).

I am also slowly morphing my shop into a fresh new and exciting place for 2009. I have a new banner, avatar and even newly name sections that make shopping fun.

Here is what is new this week ~

Knit Scarfette - Classic Cable - White Fairy Dust $25. Made with fantastic vintage buttons!

Knit Necklace - Grey Choker $8. This is semi-felted by using an acrylic and wool mix.

Crocheted Flower Pin - Mint Cream $5. This is so soft and fun.

Knit Scarfette - Lavender Luxury $24. Softness surpreme!

Felted Bowl - Seafoam Green $18. The black base and green combination is fantastic.

Felted Coin Purse - Maroon $16. Sweet blue flowers with tiny beads make this unique.

Felted Bowl - Simple Pleasures $18. Nice felted goodness!

So now you see all my new items. Please come in and visit my shop while it is under construction for 2009. I will offer you a free cup of cyber coffee while you are there... LOL ♥

New This Week ~~

This past week has been hectic to say the least! With the holidays coming quickly and the end of year reports needed to be completed at work, it seems that there is barely time to breathe. But breathe I did. In fact, I was extremely productive this week, which rather surprised me.

New in my shop includes this softer than soft, whiter than white classic cable scarf. Made with a lucious acrylic/wool/nylon blend. I have named her 'White Lily'

Also new are 3 bangles. Two of which are felted using upcycled plastic bottles as the base which shows that being green can be beautiful. And one is a feastive knit covered bangle ~ great for those holiday parties!

Lilacs:

Blue Stripes:

Silver Holday Cable:

This new set of nesting bowls are perfect to keep your holiday goodies hidden in each corner of your home and are appropriate to keep around all year! The maroon, heather and white colors are striking and they have double thick rims for extra sturdiness:

And to show your little one is part of Santa's Elf Team - This adorable set of felted elf booties! The sole measures 4 inches and would fit babies 6-10 months.

I tried something new with the left over yarn from White Lily and came up with a set of snowflake ornaments. Each one has metalic yarn through out and will sparkle when next to the lights on the tree!

And last but not least, this soft peach pin. Look for the matching scarf in my shop!

Whew ~ I think that was alot for one week! And I managed to do some holiday shopping and believe it or not, the laundry is all caught up too! I guess the saying is true... "if you need something done, ask a busy person to do it. They always find the time".

Come on in and visit my shop at http://valeriesgallery.etsy.com. I hope you will have fun!

New This Week ~~

Sunday Morning is the morning when I look back at last week and evaluate what I accomplished and determine what direction I want to go in next week. For me, Sunday is a connector... from week to week.

My work is done in cycles ~ I first crochet / knit the item, then I put it through the felting process and then the items dry for a week.

Right now, I have a set of cool nesting bowls and 4 new bangles that have dried through out this past week. I plan to embellish the bangles today and will get some pictures taken if the sun comes out. You can see these items added to my shop throughout the coming week.

And here is what is new in my shop this past week ~ all available for purchase and truly make wonderful gifts.

Deep in the Ocean ~ Felted Bowl:

Classic Cables Knit Scarf ~ Peaches and Cream:

Teddy Bear's Picinic ~ Felted Booties:

Woodlands ~ Felted Bangle:

Overall, this past week was productive and included a good variety. I think it was one of my better weeks! Stop in and see how I measure up next week...
