Electronic Cozies

I am thrilled to show you these cute gadget cozies!

I had a bad habit of just throwing my cell phone in my bag. It would sink to the bottom and get lost. When it rang, I couldn't find the darn thing and more times than not, I missed the call ~ simply because I couldn't find my phone in time. Not to mention how it got scratched!

So I knit up a cozy and tried it for a week. What a difference! The cozy is knit to fit snuggly around the phone and at the same time, slips out smoothly to enable me to answer the call quickly. There are no buttons or snaps to fuss with.

Once I got the sizing right, I knit up 4 of them in orange, yellow, blue and green. When my 19 year old daughter saw them, she had to have her pick of colors (she chose green). She loves it too! She was in the habit of dropping her phone just anywhere and had to call herself to locate her phone (Ackk... like mother, like daughter!!) Now, it is so easy to spot and she never 'looses' her phone any more.

I am offering these for $8 each and will be adding them to my shops regularly if they are popular. And don't forget - my Welcome Spring Sale is going on throughout the weekend and 20% applies to everything ~ Including these! Let me know what colors you would like! Check out my etsy and artfire shops for new ones!

Fiberific Felted Wool Bangles

Newly added to my shops are felted wool bangles. These have all the fun of traditional bangles without the sounds.. so they are safe to wear to the library or any other place where you must be quiet.

Here are the first two sets that I have ready for sale. I plan to have several more sets available in all color shades as I am just having too much fun with them. Be sure to look at the sizes available as I will have small ( 2.62 inches / 6.75 cm ) and large (2.87 inches / 7.5 cm) inside diameter measurement. And of course, if you want a set in any color made especially for you, just contact me and I will be happy to make some for you!

Today's FAM Friday Feature showcases BamDesigns.

You will find adorable children's clothing, accessories, games and best of all - Bananas the Monkey (my favorite!)

Here is a bit about the force behind BamDesigns:
I am a stay at home mom with three great kids- two boys- 12 and 4, and a little girl who will be 2 in October I have been into crafts and vintage items for many years now. My mom and I used to spend weekends at craft fairs and antique malls. I have always loved being creative- it has been like an outlet for me. I love giving my creations as gifts and get a great sense of pride when I see people enjoying them.

I love fabric- vintage and modern- all kinds of fabric. I like creating clothing and items that kids will love and can withstand children. My kids wear my own creations so i make sure all the seams and clothing are of the best quality.

So come over to her shop and visit .... she will be happy to see you ♥

Hooker Spotlight ~ My String Theory

This week's hooker spotlight is shinning on a fellow felter ~~ well, technically fuller, but we accept felting.

mystringtheory has an amazing eye for color combinations and designs when making her jewerly and accessories. I would call her work fabulous, fun and funky! She teaches the strings by day and hooks strings at night... Come read more about her from her profile:

"I am a violin teacher by day, and a crocheter by night. And morning. And afternoon. And sometimes my lunch break. I began playing with yarn as a reward for completing my first year of graduate school, and it has grown into a fullblown obsession. After buzzing around practicing and teaching all day, I can't wait to get home to my yarn! It's my favorite daily unwind and meditation activity.

And here is her discription of felting (or fulling):
A Note About "Felting"
"Felting" or "fulling" is a process that shrinks crocheted or knitted items that are made of 100% wool. If a description says that one of my items is "machine felted" that means that I threw the product in the washing machine to shrink it. If it is "hand felted," I scrubbed the item over the stove in hot soapy water (with gloves of course!). A purse that has been felted does not need a lining because the shrinkage and agitation makes it pretty hard for keys and pens to poke through the fabric. On the hand felted items, stitches are still visible, but the item will still be sturdy enough to hold all of your goodies.

Definately take some time to visit her entire shop as her work is incredible. Each item is very unique and keeps you looking around the corner to see the next one!
