Warren's back to school sweater

Warren is starting 1st grade this fall.  It is hard to believe, but he is.  He will be going off to full day classes and starting his school career.

It is cold in those hills in Vermont, so I knit him a classic pull over in DK weight yarn.  Soft, warm and light enough to wear under his winter jacket.

I found the pattern on Ravelry, and the pattern was an easy knit, with most of it just plain stockinette stitch in the round.  I loved working on this project during the olympics, as I could knit and watch TV at the same time.

Even though it was pretty simple, there is some cable work up the sides and on the yolk, so it wasn't boring.

You can find the pattern HERE on Ravelry if you have a little boy that needs a classic sweater.

Here is the sweater knit in navy blue:

Good luck to my little man in first grade this year!  Grammy loves you ♥

Molly

My daughter Katie recently brought home a puppy.  Molly is 10 weeks old and is half pit bull and half border collie.  She is a frisky little puppy, but so far, she's been a good little puppy.

Katie took her to visit Warren last weekend and the two hit it off right away.  I'm sure Warren and Molly will be friends for a long time.

Christmas in Vermont

We went to visit our daughter and her family in Vermont and had a wonderful time visiting with our grandson this Christmas.

Of course, it was all about Warren. He is growing so quickly and so smart! Now that we are home, I can't wait to go visit him again!

Here he is drinking hot cocoa ~

Going for a walk in the snow ~

We couldn't make a snowman or really play in the snow due to his broken leg, but we had fun watching movies and playing with the new toys that Santa brought him.

Hope you get your cast off soon, sweetie!  I miss you already ♥

Vacation Thursday

Well, yesterday was a complete rain out. We drove for miles and only met up with rain, rain, rain. So we came home and ended up watching a movie.

But today was bright and sunny so we went to Ricky's Discovery Zoo just outside Rome NY. They have alot of animals there to look at and pet including, monkeys, lemurs, llamas, deer, goats, swans, ducks, buffalo and wolves.

After the Discovery Zoo we stopped at Pixley Falls - another NY State Park.

Vacation Tuesday

What a long day we had today! We started out the day weeding the garden and then went on a trip to the Utica Zoo. We had alot of fun there watching the animals. Then off to visit great grammy and we walked to the park near her house. After we got back home again, Aunt Katie had some batting practice with Warren. He is a slugger!

This very cool bird greeted us at the gate at the zoo:

We went to visit our grandson in Vermont this past weekend and celebrated his 3rd birthday. We had so much fun and I can't believe how much he has grown since Chistmas!
