As I wave goodbye to summer I am looking forward to fall with all the spectacular colors. I love crisp mornings and the smell of fall.

And I have added a couple felted wool pumpkins in my shop to help you decorate!

Where did summer go?

Just last week we had sweltering temps here in central NY. Yesterday we woke up to 55 degrees. My youngest daughter started her second year at community collgege and after labor day, the school busses will be back on the roads. My garden is starting to slow down and will soon be ready to prepare for next year and the days are starting to get shorter and shorter. Where did summer go?

Cold weather is coming soon and I have a brand new scarflette that I am most excited about that is called Waves. The one below is the first one that is available and is made in a beautiful tan and is so soft knit with a wool and acrylic blend.

I wrote the pattern out while making it and my tester is already making sure there are no mistakes. Once she is finished, this pattern will also be available in my shops, so stay tuned for that! And in the meantime, if you want to get your knitting needles clicking, check out these two knitting patterns. They are both quick and easy knits but with stunning results that will really impress your friends!

I find such comfort knitting on cold rainy days, so off I go to my knitting chair with a cup of coffee. Hoping you all have a great day!

Craft Fair Weekend

This was my second year participating in the DodgePratt Northrom Art and Community Craft Fair that is held in conjunction with the Woodsmen's Field Days. The show is 2 days on the lawn of a beautiful victorian building in the heart of down town Boonville NY.

Last year I was incredibly nervous as it was my very first show ever, but this year I felt prepared and worked hard to create an inviting booth filling it with color and interesting items. Hubby made me some great pieces to display my work and I may just try to talk him into making some more!

My daughters all pitched in to help me and we had a great time until Sunday afternoon when the skys opened up and poured on us. We enjoyed musicians, a parade on Saturday, great food and lovely weather - until Sunday of course!

I would love any comments you have to enhance the presentation, so please feel free to provide any suggestions for my next one!

Stop on in ~~

This weekend I will have a booth on the lawn of our very own Dodge-Pratt Northram Art and Community Center in conjunction with the 62nd Annual NYState Woodmen's Field Days.

The Woodsmen's Field Days, a nonprofit organization, was founded by the Rev. Frank Reed in 1948. Due to the support of its many volunteers, (nearly 400) the Field Days have evolved into one of the predominant lumberjack contests in the United States today. Contestants come from as far away as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to compete in the lumberjack festivities, which are held the third weekend in August. In addition to the Woodsmen's contest on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, there are displays of various forestry related equipment, covering a wide variety of interests from the professional logger to the occasional firewood cutter.

Our small town will be hopping this weekend with parades, fireworks, and events through out the town as well as the fair grounds.

Hoping you will stop by and say hello if your in the area!

New Items

As I await for the winner of my giveaway to reply to my notice, I will show you some of my newest bowls.

This brown bowl is semi-felted with wool and acrylic. I thought I would try something a bit different and am very pleased with the way it turned out. It makes a nice bowl for fruit, rolls or home decor, but would also make a great planter cover!

I am loving red lately. It is such a bold and happy color. This red wool bowl blends some orange and yellows throughout and is a nice size to hold all your little items.

This lovely grey wool scarflette is very versitile and can be worn in several different way and is super soft!

And keep you cellphone, camera or ipod scratch free in this pink knit cozy ~
